The community park was originally constructed with a large group of volunteers. Existing equipment was outdated and hazardous. The City of Stamford retained Aris Land Studio to develop designs that reflected a respect for the original volunteers, and sensitivity to the natural environment. New playground equipment was planned to nestle into the existing landscape, building on the bucolic setting of North Stamford. The park is shared by the public with dragonflies that swoop through the watercourse feasting on mosquito larvae – natures pest control. Ferns and native plantings compliment the designs, improving habitat for pollinators.
